The Yellow Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) public charity, in collaboration with Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland, a nonprofit, 501(c)(4) charity, is sponsoring its annual “Mothers Stepping Out Against Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking ” 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Our goal in hosting the Virtual 5K Walk/Run Event is to advocate against violence and abuse against women, children, and human trafficking. We want to raise awareness to these issues that affect so many in our community. Also, we want to offer encouragement, emotional support, and hope to survivors impacted as a result of human trafficking, domestic violence, and domestic abuse. The hosts of the event will be the members of the Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland, which is a local club of Zonta International, with headquarters in Oak Brook, IL, USA, a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. The Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland was chartered in 2016. Since then we have worked to advance the status of women through service projects and through advocacy. One of our major projects addresses the issue of domestic violence by supporting legislation and policies that impact victims, and especially supporting the Prince George’s County Family Justice Center (An Initiative of the Circuit Court).
